The Petersham Bowling Club, located in the inner-western suburbs of Sydney, Australia, is a unique community-driven establishment that has become an integral part of the local community. In other words not much different to our own, with the exception it is run by non bowlers and this is what makes it work in terms of survival.  In their case the Bowling membership reluctance to change forced the community to step in after the club was threatened with closure. A feature story on the project last night explaining their success. Established in 1896, the club has a rich history and has evolved over the years to become a hub of social and sporting activities for locals of all ages.
